THE TINKER DECISION 50 YEARS LATER

This February marked the 50th anniversary of the United States Supreme Court’s decision in Tinker v. Des Moines Independent Community School District regarding the First Amendment rights of students. In light of recent legal issues regarding speech by students and within school curriculums, DLE attorney Brian Saucier has written an article (you can read it here) for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund reviewing Tinker and later cases establishing the parameters of protected speech in schools.
